When the Cover Spring has been disengaged from the Receiver, the Rear Sight Base can easily be removed by pulling it up and back.

The Rear Sight Base can then be lifted out and set aside.

After removing the Rear Sight Base the last step is to remove the Cover Spring. The Cover Spring simply lifts off of the Receiver.
