Reassembling the M1 Garand's Gas System must be done with care. It is not hard per-se, but it must be done carefully.

Most of the things that need doing can be accomplished with a GI M1 Combo Tool. The re-assembly of the Gas System as covered in this section presents no exceptions to this rule.

While reading this section you may want to refer to the Nomenclature Pages if any of the part names don't ring a bell.

The first steps of re-assembly are to lay out all of the parts that you will need and to put on my safety glasses.

Start by making sure the Front Handguard is seated correctly in the Lower Band.
